The MailToFax Connector for RightFax allows users to send faxes directly from Outlook or other email clients, without the need of a separate desktop fax application. Additionally, the connector allows users to scan and fax paper documents directly from email-enabled MFPs, with or without a RightFax user account.
The MailToFax Connector for RightFax is a flexible solution that conforms with most corporate security policies, with the ability to encrypt communications with industry standard mechanisms, including TLS 1.2 and SSL. The ability to send faxes can be limited to Active Directory authenticated users using core RightFax functionality.
The SMTP Listener collects all emails that are sent to an assigned email domain, e.g. [email protected], converts the email and all attachments to a fax and queues the fax for delivery. Customizable rules define which portions of the email are used to populate important fax information.
For organizations using Office 365, it is often necessary to poll for faxes, rather than routing them to a listener, due to security and firewall policies. The IMAP/POP3 Polling service collects all emails in a specified inbox, converts them faxes and queues them for delivery.
When a fax is complete, it is often required that a confirmation notification be returned to the sender with the final status of the fax. If the sender is not a RightFax user, and therefore can’t get a notification from RightFax, the Notification Manager will send a confirmation email to the original sender.
