Meltdown and Spectre: Speculative Execution Side-Channel Vulnerabilities
Meltdown and Spectre are newly discovered flaws in the design of processors that may allow attackers to read sensitive information stored in memory, including passwords, keys and other secrets. Microsoft has released an out-of-band update for Windows to address these flaws and mitigate any possible exploits.
Microsoft has issued the following patches KB4056890 (for Server 2016), KB4056898 (for Server 2012R2) and KB4056897 (for Server 2008R2). These should be made available to you via the normal Windows Update process.
As these are operating system patches, and no patch specific to RightFax is anticipated, they should be applied in accordance with your regular Windows patching and testing procedures. We have no information on the performance impact the patch released by Microsoft will have on RightFax, and we do not anticipate any additional RightFax specific configuration or patch will be necessary to mitigate these vulnerabilities.
