How to Send a Fax via FaxUtil
To begin, let’s start in Faxutil.
To send a fax, click the new fax button from the ribbon. This will display the Fax Information dialog box.
Notice the fields that are in BOLD, these are required fields.
Populate the required fields, plus any of the other fields that you want to show up on the fax coversheet such as phone number, Company name, Address, or alternate fax number. If you would like to add notes to your cover sheet, simply click the cover sheet notes Tab and enter in the space provided.
Next step is to add your document as an attachment to the fax via the Attachment tab. Here you will be able to attach files one of 3 ways.
First, you can click on the paper clip icon, to attach a file from your computer in a supported format, such as Word, Excel, or PowerPoint.
Second, you can click on the Library Docs tab. These will be documents that are stored on your RightFax server such as contracts or standardized forms.
Lastly, if you have a scanner available to your workstation, you can use the scanner tab to attach a physical document.
Now, let’s take a look at the more options tab of the fax information dialog box. The most common task performed on this page is to change the cover sheet file that will be sent along with your fax.
Once all these steps have been completed, you can click the send button to send your fax.
Back in FaxUtil, you can track the progress and status of your fax. Faxes that have a Red Status, indicate that the fax has failed. Faxes with a Yellow status indicate that the fax has been tried, but did not complete and will retry, or that the fax needs attention. Faxes with a green status, indicates that your fax has been successfully sent.
